Great food. Serving size is just right. Wait time is less to be desired. Ambiance needs an update. Street parking but not enough spaces

Good food! I frequent the place and love their noodles. Parking is quite difficult since there is very limited space.

Delicious! Everything we ordered was great. The noodles especially was very satisfying. They just didnt accept cards that time we visited.

Being around for about 20 years now, Mien San Noodle House stands as a popular destination for quality Taiwanese food. There are significant differences between the usual Chinese food that we Filipinos are used to and the Taiwanese food that they offer. For their soups, they use rice noodles instead of the typical egg noodles. Their spicy wantons are simply the best, partnered with a slightly sweet sauce that gives off a spicy kick in the end. Their roast platter is also a must try, with their white chicken so generously covered in ginger and leeks. It also includes braised pig's ears, not something you would usually find in common roast platters. With the patrons of this establishment mostly being of Chinese or Taiwanese descent, you're sure to get your fill of traditional and authentic eats. However, parking can be a bit difficult, so coming in early or dining at off-peak hours could make your dining experience more pleasurable.

I used to think that there was only so much you could do with dim sum. Push carts with hakaw, shark's fin, pork siomai... what have you. Mien San proved me wrong. This little Chinese restaurant (though small in size and relatively crowded in seating ) packs a punch in terms of honest food, if there is such a thing. They start you off with fried wonton chips and tea while you go over their simple, no nonsense menu. I prefer the wonton chips they used to serve before, without the sugar, but that's just me. I usually order the the same things, which never disappoint: fried siopao, spicy wonton, handpulled noodles in peanut sauce, and mapo tofu. Obviously you should go here with another equally ravenous food-tripper. If you have to go with just two things, go for the fried siopao and handpulled noodles. The siopao is like xiao long bao on steroids. You will definitely not be sorry you listened to me. Pair this soup and meat filled dumpling with a noodle-y carb-fest and you'll be off to dreamland in no time. Mien San makes its own dim sum from scratch, so it is definitely worth a try.

Out of all the Taiwanese restaurants that have opened up in Manila, Mien San is still one of my top-of-mind destinations to satisfy those cravings. Located on Granada Street on the border of QC and San Juan, Mien San is one of those places that doesn't look like much if you're passing through by car. But a closer look will show you that the place is always packed with hungry diners and with good reason. There's nothing that spells comforting like a big, heaping bowl of Beef Tendon Soup from Mien San on a rainy day. They also have a decent selection of dumplings if you're not craving noodle soup, as well as really good and affordable rice meals. Their Mapo Tofu is also among the best I have tried in Manila! Writing this review is really difficult because I find myself salivating and craving Mien San as we speak, if this tells you anything about how good it is. Definitely worth the 5 stars.

When I'm looking for good Taiwanese food, I always go back to Mien San. I used to live nearby so it would be a usual stop on days when I didn't want to think of where I would eat lunch or dinner. I love Mien San because their food is simple and straight to the point. I fell in love with them when I tried their spicy wonton and I always make sure I order it whenever I go back. The sauce is soo spicy but in a good way.. it makes you want to keep eating it! I even pour some on my rice because it's that good! And of course, it isn't called a noodle house for nothing. Their beef noodle soup is so delicious. Their noodles have the perfect firmness... not too soggy and not too hard. And their soup is thick with generous portions of beef. Yum! They also have other popular dishes like their lomi, pata tim and xiao long bao. The only downside is that the place gets full easily, so if you want to eat there, make sure you go early to get a table!

Mien-San used to be small hole-in-the-wall treat but it has gotten a lot of word of mouth praise that more and more people are finding out about this Chinese eatery. Word around the street is that they have the best noodle soups and spicy dumplings around. I'm not sure if it's the best but it's definitely up there. For me, this is Chinese comfort food, most especially during rainy days. There's not much fuss in its menu, being decidedly straightforward, and that's a constant theme with the interiors of Mien-San. It's simple Chinese. Their Spicy Beef with Tendon Noodle is a crowd pleaser and is a favorite of mine because of the kick of heat paired with juicy beef and tendon. The noodles also taste fresh and has the right firmness to go with the soup. Their Spicy Wanton is also a favorite with its silky wanton skin and that punch of wonderful heat coming from the wanton. Their portions are generous and you cannot complain about their prices. This is Chinese rustic to its core, and its steady rise to fame says a lot about their food.
